 SYNOPSIS

In June 2017, the filmmaker flees with her family from a small village in the center of Portugal in front of one of the worst forest fires in history.

The 37 inhabitants of the village remain and defend their homes. They survive.
But at least 66 people die from this fire, and over the year the number rises to over 100.
The village of Ferraria de São João is surrounded by fast-burning eucalyptus forests, which the country's booming paper industry desperately needs.
The forest fire causes the inhabitants to start a project that will change their village forever.
The fate of this small village shows the consequences of globalization and climate change. The film spans a single family, a village, a whole country and even Europe, always keeping close to the people.
